Type signs in other apps
After you install Hiero Pro, you can add its keyboard in iPhone or iPad Settings.
- Open Settings, then General, Keyboard and Keyboards.
- Choose Add New Keyboard, then Hiero Pro.
- Open a text field in Notes or another app. Hold the globe key and select Hiero Pro.
Choose a sign category, then tap a sign to insert it. Switch between Signs and Codes to enter either the hieroglyph or its reference code. Full Access is not required.
If a sign looks different
The receiving app chooses its own font. A different outline does not necessarily mean the character changed. If you see an empty box, that app may not have a font that supports Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Some apps and secure text fields use the system keyboard instead of custom keyboards.
